Angsana Velavaru Announces the Appointment of Jan Lorenzen as Executive Assistant Manager

Angsana Velavaru is delighted to announce the appointment of Jan Lorenzen as Executive Assistant Manager. With over 20 years of global experience in the luxury hospitality industry, Jan brings a wealth of expertise and a proven track record in leading Food  & Beverage across Europe & Asia.

Throughout his distinguished career, Jan has held senior leadership roles with renowned brands including The Landmark London, Millenium Knightsbridge, Intercontinental Hotels Group, Belmond Napasai, Amari Pattaya, Royal Cliff Hotels Group. Most recently, he oversaw the renovations of all the Food and Beverage outlets at Angsana Laguna Phuket. His extensive experiences spans pre-opening management, large-scale MICE operations and multi-outlet restaurant and bar leadership. 


In his new role, Jan envisions further enhancing the resort’s Food and Beverage operations by introducing innovative concepts that celebrate local flavours and global trends. He plans to focus on elevating guest experiences, nurturing talent within the team, and driving sustainable practices across the resort.

 

Jan describes his leadership style as hand-on experience and collaborative: “I believe in empowering my team, fostering a culture of creativity and accountability, and leading by example to achieve our shared goals. I also strive to bring synergy to all departments to create magical  moments for all guests.” He further emphasises his philosophy toward hospitality: “Food and Beverage is not just about serving a meal – it’s  about creating an emotional connection with guests through exceptional moments.”


Looking ahead Jan is excited to embrace this destination offers. “Angsana Velavaru is uniquely positioned to become a true gastronomic destination in the Maldives. I’m eager to collaborate with the team to craft dining experience that celebrate authenticity, innovation, and the  rich flavours of the region – creating unforgettable memories for our guests.”
