Alton Towers Resort has today announced an all-new immersive experience for Scarefest 2026: Dine with the Dead.  The Scarefest experience is the first of its kind at the Resort, combining dining with an immersive spine-tingling experience. Dine With the Dead invites guests to a dinner party, hosted by the sinister Lord Vincent and Lady Lucinda Vile as they celebrate 300 years of toxic matrimony.

What begins as an elegant reception soon becomes something far more unsettling, as guests meet the mysterious Vile family and some of their most peculiar acquaintances. As the evening unfolds, twisted performances, eerie encounters and unexpected moments bring the story to life, with specialist live entertainment taking place around the dinner table.

Those who choose to Dine with the Dead won't just be onlookers - they will become immersed within the story, with every guest playing a central role in the evening's chilling events.

The experience comprises three sections of the evening: the cocktail party, the three course meal and the afterparty - each part more terrifying than the last. For those looking for more exclusive thrills at Scarefest this year, visitors can experience a behind the scenes VIP tour of the Final Exhibit scare attraction.

The guided tour of Final Exhibit will include a lights-on walkthrough of the attraction allowing guests to experience a previously unseen view of the scare attraction - which was launched this year. They will hear exclusive talks revealing the storyline and creative process behind the new attraction.

Returning for 2026, is the The Alton Towers Ghost Tour experience in the Grade II listed Towers following reports of eerie ghost sightings by guests. The spooktacular Alton Towers VIP Ghost Tour offers brave visitors an immersive 60-minute guided ghost hunt through the mysterious ruins of the Towers - equipped with professional paranormal detection equipment.

Scarefest 2026 kicks off on Saturday 26 September 2026 and is available to book from then until Sunday 1 November 2026. For a full Halloween-themed experience, The Second Day Free offer turns a stay at the resort into a weekend of spooky adventure. Families can stay overnight in one of the spookily themed accommodations, with a second day at Alton Towers theme park included free, giving them more time to enjoy the rides, attractions and Halloween adventures – and make even more unforgettable memories together.

Howard Ebison, Vice President of Alton Towers Resort said: “Dine with the Dead will bring something completely different to the Scarefest 2026 line-up, immersing families in a spine-tingling story where they are not simply watching the spookiness unfold - they are right at the heart of it. After a night of frights, with our Second Day Free offer, guests can take some time to recharge before enjoying a full extra day of thrills, fun and adventure at the Resort.”
