40th Annual Grapefest® Returns to Grapevine Celebrating Texas Wine

Texas is the fifth largest wine-producing state in the U.S., and Grapevine, Texas is proud to host its 40th Annual GrapeFest® – A Texas Wine Experience, taking place 17, 18, 19 and 20 September in the heart of Grapevine's Historic Main Street. One of the Top 10 Wine Festivals in the U.S., earning the #7 spot in the USA TODAY 10 Best 2025 Readers' Choice Awards, this is a not to be missed event and the perfect time to sample the fruit of the vine.

This four-day festival is the Largest Wine Festival in the Southwest and celebrates the rich heritage of Texas winemaking, while offering a wide range of activities for visitors of all ages, including wine tastings, live entertainment, family-friendly events, and culinary experiences. 

Since its inception in 1986, GrapeFest® has grown from a small community gathering into one of the premier wine festivals in the United States bringing in more growers, owners and sellers every year. The festival honours Grapevine's deep-rooted history, from early settlers who first planted vines in the 19th century. It also celebrates the Urban Wine Trail, made up of nine Texas winery tasting rooms on Main Street that offer daily wine tastings and special events throughout the year.

What to Expect  

GrapeFest® opens its gates on Thursday, 17 September, and runs through Sunday, 20 September. Visitors can look forward to a variety of activities, including: 

• The People's Choice Wine Tasting Classic: The Largest Consumer-Judged Wine Competition in the Country, sponsored by Audi Grapevine. This cornerstone event gives guests the chance to sample and vote for their favourite Texas wines. Fans of Texas wine and Texas wine novices will experience some of the best wines the state has to offer as they get half-ounce pours from each winery during seven separate 90-minute Tasting Sessions and three VIP sessions. 

•  The International Wine Experience: Sponsored by Gaylord Texan Resort, visitors can explore varietals from across the globe, including Barossa, South Australia, Krems, Austria, Parras de la Fuente, Mexico and more expanding their palates with unique flavours and styles.   

• GrapeStomp: Two-person teams take turns stomping approximately 18 pounds of grapes for two minutes. Teams that stomp the most juice are eligible to participate in the Grand Championship StompOff on Sunday, where the grand champions will win the highly-coveted Purple Foot Award. 

• Champagne Terrace: Located near the intersection of Main and East Texas Streets, Champagne Terrace is the ideal shaded setting to enjoy a glass of premium bubbly and live music. Champagne and sparkling wine is available for purchase and you will receive a champagne flute with purchase. 

• Wine Education Classes – Workshops led by experts guide guests through the art of matching wines with gourmet dishes, making these sessions a must for amateurs and experts. 

• Grapevine Marketplace and Festival Shops: Discover unique vendors offering everything from gourmet foods to handcrafted jewellery to take home. 

• GrapeFest Pickleball & Tennis Classic: Produced by TNT Tennis, players will have  the chance to compete against some of the best players in Texas and surrounding areas, with prize money given to the winners. The tournament features both junior and adult singles and mixed doubles events.

Live Music and Entertainment 

GrapeFest® features an impressive lineup of live music acts across multiple stages. Past performers have included chart-topping artists and local favourites, providing a diverse range of genres from country and rock to blues and jazz. This year's headliners will be announced soon. 

Getting There 

Grapevine is conveniently located in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex, just minutes from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. Visitors can easily reach the festival by car and ample parking is available with complimentary shuttle services to the festival grounds. Additionally, the TEXRail commuter rail service offers a convenient and eco-friendly transportation option from various points in the region.
